Landon Hockey 8 St. John’s College High School 2

The Cadets, the most recent addition to MAPHL AA, came to the Bears’ Den with hopes of beating the home team. SJCHS had a respectable 2-3-2 record and players who play on outside teams with many of Coach Farnstrom’ s players. Landon was missing three players, two of whom will be back in the lineup on Friday.

The UnderArmour clad visitors were first on the scoreboard at 10:33 of the 1st period. The Bears were short-handed after two consecutive penalties perceived by the referees.

The home team scored @3:12 on a play started by Owen Concannon who passed to Cullen Stout and who delivered the puck to Will Jarrett.

The end of the first 17:00 minutes, Landon had put 9 SOGs and goalie Max Weinstein had made 3 saves.

During the second trimester, the Bears controlled the puck and skated with purpose and energy; the result was six goals:

For this segment of the game, Max  had seven saves and his teammates put 16 SOGs.

The last stanza was a bit more subdued; Coach Farnstrom relaxed the attack. The Cadets scored their second goal at 3:48 and as with its prior goal the visitors benefitted from a power play. Nico Kenary put the last Bear goal in the back of the net @1:28 with an exceptional assist from Ryan.

 

Hayes had a hat trick plus and assist; line mate Ryan had two goals and five assists. The Bears totaled 34 SOGs and Max stopped 18 Cadet shots. Late in the game, the visitors took several short range shots and Max blocked them all.

ON FRIDAY, THE BULLDOGS WILL SEEK REVENGE FOR THEIR RECENT STRING OF LOSSES TO THE BEARS –@ Ft. DuPont at 4:45 pm
