Landon Hockey 3 Washington Township (NJ) 2

Bears followed up their 1st game tie by beating the South Jersey team (4-6-3). Though the score was close, the Bears dominance was demonstrated by a 45-15 SOG margin. The Minutemen, true to their historic mascot, showed a lot of speed.

In the early part of period one, freshman goalie, Max Weinstein faced a streaking opposing skater, blocked the shot and established momentum for the Brown sweaters.

The Bear O controlled the puck much of the opening 13 minutes. A penalty on Washington Township (not DC) required PP for the DMV team. Cole Gibson moved the puck (the 1st of 3 assists) to Nico (the Argentinean Assassin) Kenary scored @6:05.

The Minutemen replied with a goal at 11:19, early in period #2.

Ryan Giles grabbed the puck in his D Zone, moved it swiftly to Captain Gibson (2A) , and fed it to Joey Graham for a goal @ 5:49. The two assist passes created a breakaway for Joey.

During this middle stanza, the Bears put 17 SoGs, more than a few were almost goals.

The third period saw the third penalty. The Bears converted. Cole started the play with a pass to Chris Morris who found Ryan Giles (cheered on by both of his brothers/ Bear hockey alumni) scored @ 7:29.

Credit to the NJ team, they fought to the last second, scoring at 0:01.9
