The Bears finished the 2016 season on a positive note beating the Bulldogs of St. Albans 27-26 late in the game, the Bear O scored the go-ahead TD, the Bear D stopped the StA passing attack, the Bear O made critical clock-busting plays and the special teams netted +8 points. 2017 is already looking brighter. Dominque Seagears (L14), CB, Trinity Bantams (8-0) beat Wesleyan (CT) 45-21 played. Ended season with its 7th NESCAC championship and 6th undefeated season.

Matt Underhill (L13) K, Joe Gagnon (L16) DL, Washington & Lee Generals (6-4) beat Shenandoah 59-42; Matt was 8/8 on PATs, ½ on FGs(21 yards); had 10 kick-offs for an average of 56.1.

According to W&L’s preseason statement Matt  entered his senior season ranked fifth all-time at W&L in field goal accuracy (13-21, .619) [moves up with .63%] and second in PAT accuracy (89-91, .978) … holds the record for the longest field goal in school history (51 yds.).
