The Bears shut out their neighbor Barons at Walter Johnson’s stadium 35-0.  In 2011, Landon blanked the Maroon of EHS 13-0 and has not replicated that zeroing out their opposition since. The visitors held the blue and maize clad opponents to three first downs plus in 9 of twelve BCC possessions, the Bear D forced three-and-outs. Landon recorded 6 TFLs and a blocked punt, which was recovered in the end zone of a TD by the D.

The Barons wore special jerseys which all bore the name of a volunteer coach who died of cancer a few years ago. The boys clearly fought hard for Coach Van Grack

BCC started the season with a rough 3 game losing streak. They scored in all (10, 21, 12) and two of their opponents are undefeated. Their last game was 36-0 win. The team from downtown Bethesda has more than a couple of big linemen

Landon kicked off and forced BCC to punt. The visitors’ offense sputtered and had to punt after six plays. The Bear D again shut down the Barons.

The third run of Landon’s next possession was a 40 yard TD run by Zayd Delane 4:20  with an Austen Schneider to John Geppert to Aaron Boner PAT  made it BEARS 7 BARONS 0

The ball moved back and forth between both teams four times and the clock moved into Q2. An interception by Colby Camalier gave his teammates excellent field position. Two runs by Bryce Baylor (the last 51 yards) resulted in Landon’s 2nd TD @ 8:31 and the PAT made their PAT thus moving the score to BEARS 14 BARONS 0

The teams traded control of the ball and the Barons were forced to punt from their own 16 yard line. Joey Epstein blocked the punt and Tommy Baldwin recovered the ball in the end zone for a TD @ 4:25. Another successful kick added to the lead—BEARS 21 BARONS 0

The BCC Poms crushed it at halftime

Landon received the 2nd half kickoff, but was not moving the ball well for its initial two drives. On the third series, the first five plays were runs and with a first & goal from the ten yard line, John Geppert connected with Chazz Harley for a TD @0:43 of the 3rd Q. PAT good BEARS 28 BARONS 0

The scoreboard clock indicated that the last period was to start and soon thereafter, Landon received the ball on a punt. Six consecutive runs ended with a 4 yard TD by Joey Epstein @ 8:35 BEARS 35 BARONS 0

Under high school rules with such a lead, the clock ran for the remainder. The Barons mover the ball but were unable to score.
