Landon Lacrosse 11 – Episcopal 2

The Maroon of Episcopal Lacrosse team came into Bear territory loaded for Bear as they were still feeling the sting of the double overtime loss last year to Landon. The Maroon are talented – but did not seem to get out of first gear to put their game plan into effect.

The Bear offense though seemed unfazed from the start and the entire game can be summed up by this writer simply as an "all hands on deck and firing on all cylinders" effort. Ground balls, ball control, defense toughness and grit combined with excellent execution by the Midfield to the Attack resulted in a complete team effort reflected by the final score. For us gentle observers and ball watchers the Attack spread the defense in the not so always obvious text book fashion to open up shooting lanes for the Mid Fielders. A strong finish to the season and great momentum going into the IAC playoffs with a fully healthy team since the first week of the season and with Andrew Fowler returning next week.

This writer is not going into detail on the play by play as Landon dominated from the first face off until the final buzzer. Here are the official stats other than ground balls from EHS:

Drennan = 3 goals

Nate = 2 goals and 2 assists

Joey = 2 goals and 2 assists

Will Powell = 2 goals

Thomas Halm = 2 goals

Justin Shockey = 8 of 11 face offs

Shane Corcoran = 4 of 5

Paul Kern 6 of 7

Although a complete team effort for the win there were two notable standouts for the game.

Will Powell

Shane Corcoran
