Navy Lax Earns 10th Win of the Season, Deals Sacred Heart 7-1 Setback

[NOTE: be sure to read the quote so typical for Patrick!!!]

“…senior Patrick Keena (A / Vienna, Va.) dealt out two assists to become just the 32nd player in the program’s 109-year history to reach the 100-point milestone.  With 101 points (40-61), he is tied for 27th on the Mids’ career scoring list and is one of just 13 players in school history who have scored 40 goals and dealt out 60 assists.  He is the first Navy player to accomplish that feat since Nick Mirabito (96-62) in 2005-08.

“It’s really a product of playing with so many talented players,” said Keena, who was asked about joining an elite group of scorers.

Keena now needs just 2 points to become Navy’s first 50-point single-season scorer since Jon Birsner totaled 54 points (18-36) in 2006.”

THAT’S A BEAR!!!

Raiders Run Past Lafayette, 14-9

crd

Head coach Mike Murphy specifically hailed the effort not only of Delaney but also of Robby Dunigan, who scored two goals and caused three turnovers as the Raiders limited Lafayette to just 7-of-17 on clears for the game.

The 2016 Jacoby Cup will be Saturday May 14th at 9am, so please mark your calendars and start nursing any nagging injuries back to health!

As before, we plan to play doubles round robin followed by a playoff of the top 4 teams.  Each alumnus (or faculty member) will be paired with a current varsity team member, however if any of you alumni have special team requests, please tell and we can potentially accommodate.  The finals will be wrapped up by 12noon so you’ll have the rest of the day free.  We are planning to start at 9am so please arrive early to warm up, meet your partner, and enjoy the coffee & breakfast which will be setup for you.

Please RSVP to me (301-512-6292, patrick.guarnieri@ubs.com  ) or Nick Barquin (917-572-7135, nbarquin@barquin.com) at your earliest convenience to ensure a spot in the draw.

If you cannot play, you are of course welcome to come out for coffee, fellowship with other alumni & faculty, and time with Mac.  We hope to see as many of you as possible and, as always, Go Bears!

Patrick ’00 & Nick ’97
