BOTH senior Ben Goodfriend and Brendan Gallagher (’18) qualified for the Lehigh Prep Nationals. Both wrestled well.     Brendan won 3 to make it to the Blood round. Then he lost     to the 3rd place finisher. The sophomore finished in the top 12

Darion Atkins (’11), Westchester Knicks (NYC Knicks D-League team), is in 2nd place with a 21-16 record. #5 has played in all games and has averaged 30.5 minutes, 9.8 ppg, 7.5 rpg, 1.9 apg, 1.1 spg and 1.6 bpg.

Danny Rubin (‘10) Bnei Hertzeliyya11-9, has played in 17 games, averaging 16.1 minutes, 3.9 points and 1.8 rebounds.

  • College

Joe McDonald (’12), GWU Colonials are now 21-8. Beat LaSalle was crushed by GDub 90-50 ; Joe had 23 minutes on the floor, 4 pts.,4 reb., 5 assts. They beat the Spiders 73-61with Joe’s 34 minutes, 13 pts., 6 rebs. And 1 asst. Against VCU, not so good, losing 65-69 at home Joe’s 31 minutes, 6points, 1 rebound, 4 assists and 1 steal were not enough.

Chris Hudnut (’11),

Aaron Byrd (’15), Augusta University, 16-10, the Jaguars beat USC-Aiken 90-86 in O/T with Aaron’s 10 minutes and 4 points-1 assist -1 steal. Against Lander, a 82-73 win, the freshman played 9 minutes.

 

Ice Hockey

  • College

Sam Anas (’11) Quinnipiac Bobcats, the #1 team 24-2-7, Brown 4-1 and Sam had 1 assist earning his 41st point of this season and continuing his 16 game scoring streak. That game clinched their 2nd consecutive ECAC regular season title. Against their rival, גּale , the Bobcats crushed the Bulldogs 4-1, but the Anas streak ended.

SAQU

Max Greenwald (’12) assistant captain, Middlebury Panthers 8-10-7). Beat the team formerly known as the Lord Jeffs 3-1 with Max assisting on the opening goal; then beat Hamilton in the NESCAC Q-finals 2-1 in O/T. No stats yet; onto the NESCAC semi’s.

Connor Meike, Williams Ephman (18-5-2), but Connor has not been medically cleared to play yet—do they have medical redshirts in NESCAC?

  • Juniors

Jack Barton , Northern Junior Cyclones,25-15-1 (Commit Skidmore) 34 GP, 7G, 21 A

Chris Javens, Portland Jr. Pirates, 13-27-0 (Commit Skidmore) has played 15 games with 1G and 1A and 49 PIMs.

Christian Meike, now with the Waterloo Black Hawks (Michigan commit), has played in 38 games (with two teams) and has 2 Gs and 7 As.

Alex Norwinski (’15) and Trevor Wolf (’15) Sugarland Imperials, both Bears wear an A on their sweaters; the team has a 20-20 record Alex has 14 G and 14 A in 41 games; Trevor in 36 games has 2 G and 10 A.

Thanks to Facebook, it was learned that Vincent Kindfuller has been playing intra MIT club hockey for the Navy ROTC and the team has been winning:

Their campuses are 110 miles apart and they travel over a thousand miles to play in West Palm Beach, not cheap but smart
