BLTF 021616
Weather was a bit of a problem this past week. The impending polar vortex forced the rescheduling of several games including Maryland vs. Navy which will now be played April 19 and Johns Hopkins vs. UMBC which will be played March 30.

There weren’t any Bears vs. Bears games this past week.

Bucknell (Sean O’Brien, Jarret Witzal) 11
Bryant 10

The Bison picked up their second win of the season. Jarret had another great game at the X, winning 10 of 15 faceoffs and Sean scored a goal to contribute to a win in which every goal was critical.

Vermont (Coach Ryan Curtis) 19
New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) 6

The Catamounts bounced back from their season opening loss to run over NJIT.

Delaware (Philip Pena) 11
Mount St. Mary’s 14

Fairfield (Charlie Schnider) 10
Richmond 11

Charlie is off to a great start to the 2016 season. He put up 3 goals and 2 assists for the Stags, but it was not enough to overcome the rapidly ascending Spiders program.

Hobart (Koko Avedisian, Riley McTague) 12
Penn State 17

Koko saw action in his first NCAA game, but the Statesmen gave up 9 fourth quarter goals and fell to the Nittany Lions.

Virginia (Jack Falk, Jason Murphy, Michael Rhoads) 4
Loyola 11

Jack Falk had one ground ball and Jason Murphy was 7 of 11 on faceoffs. Unfortunately, it was much more the Greyhounds sending Jason back to the X than the ‘Hoos who suffered their first season opener loss since 2007.

Colgate (Robby Dunigan) 8
Michigan 9

This Coming Week:

Three Bears vs. Bears Matches
• Virginia (Jack Falk, Jason Murphy, Michael Rhoads) travels to Drexel (Hank Brown)
• Bucknell (Sean O’Brien, Jarret Witzal) takes on Fairfield (Charlie Schnider)
• Delaware (Phil Pena) visits Navy (Patrick Keena)

Other Games of Note:
• Ivy League teams kick off their 2016 campaigns, including Cornell (Marshall Peters, Jack Bolen, Colton Rupp), Dartmouth (Landon McKenzie), Penn (Peter Laco, Garret Fellows), and Princeton (Mark Strabo)
