Lost 55-66 to Woodberry Forest at Orange, VA   with Donnell Frayer ‘s 27 leading the Bears and 37-66 at EHS, WaPo’s #8 team. Landon is 7-7 per All Met Sports.

Hockey

The Bears played against IAC competition beat Prep 9-1 and Bullis 11-0. Three MAPHL games this week.

Riflery

Lost to the West Potomac 1046-1126 and then Lake Braddock 1063-1111. Nice article in WaPo about DMV and Landon riflery

Big wins by Brett Gallagher and Josh Hunter who faced EHS’ best wrestlers.

 

In exhibitions, Josh Chapman earned his first victory of the  season.

  • Landon had a good night. Unfortunately, we lost a close one to Ireton.  Both teams won 7 matches, but we lost on bonus points.  Several wrestlers went 3-0 for the night:  Brendon Gallagher, Ben Goodfriend, Brett Gallagher, Griffin Brown, Josh Hunter, and Mitchell Pan. Luc Schermer and Justin Conner went 2-1 for the night.  Griffin Brown had an last second win over a state ranked wrestler, and Terrance Bridgers won the Bear Claw award for staying tough for the entire match against a second ranked wrestler in the state who will wrestle Division I next year for Penn.

Darion Atkins (’11), Westchester Knicks (NYC Knicks D-League team), is in 2nd place with a 14-10 record. #5 has played in all games and has averaged 31.1 minutes, 9.6 ppg, 8.0 rpg, 2.0 apg, 1. 1 spg and 1.8 bpg.

 

Danny Rubin (‘10 ) Bnei Hertzeliyya, averaging 14 minutes, 4 points and a rebound in 12 games. Team plays today.

  • College

Joe McDonald (’12),GWU Colonials are now 14-4. They beat UMass 70-61 and lost to the Dayton Flyers 70-77. Joe is recovering from an “upper body” injury and will be ready to play against URI.

Chris Hudnut (‘11), Colby Mules 10-4 , lost to Williams 66-75 with Joe sidelined due to an injury.

 

Ice Hockey

Sam Anas (’11) Quinnipiac Bobcats, the #2 team 19-1-3, plays Maine on 1/19.

Max Greenwald (’12) assistant captain, Middlebury Panthers (4-6-4) lost to Trinity 2-3, lost to Norwich 3-5 (Max had an A) and lost to Plattsburgh State 0-3 .

Connor Meike, Williams Ephman (10-3-5), but Connor has not been medically cleared to play yet

 

  • Junior Hockey

Jack Barton , Northern Junior Cyclones, (Commit Skidmore) 4 G 17 A

Chris Javens, Portland Jr. Pirates, (Commit Skidmore) has played 7 games.

Christian Meike, now with the Waterloo Black Hawks (Michigan commit), has played in 4 games and has an assist.

Alex Norwinski (’15) and Trevor “big bad wolf” Wolf (’15) Sugarland Imperials, both Bears wear an A on their sweaters; the team with a 10-18-1 record. Alex in 30 games is their #9 point leader has 6 goals and 8 assists; Trevor in 26 games has 2 and 6.No changes because they are on a long semester break.
