The Bulldogs are Landon’s oldest rival. Yea, Prep and Bullis matter, but the boys from Mount St. Albans and the boys from within the White Rocks year-over-year relish a victory against their rival. StA recently has had a difficult climb against the Bears. The January 6th contest was between two undefeated teams (Landon lost to a U-18 team does not technically count). The StA defense and goalie have been effective in their MAPHL games with a 0.26 Goals Against average.

The first period showed the visitors’ confidence; they attacked the Bear’s Den crease. The home team did not appear to have fully recovered from the West Chester tournament; there was not the jump in their steps. The consequence was an StA goal in the first two minutes in the game followed by a 2nd tally at 4:23.

Landon waited until 0:12.3 remaining on the clock to score. The puck moved from Drennan Greene to Michael Soraci to Patrick Giles for a goal.

The 2nd 17 minutes introduced junior Cole Gibson to the Bulldogs. At 13:12 a beautiful pass from the Argentinian Assassin Nico Kenary Cole for a nice goal. Cole again found the back of the net off of assists by Brian Jordan and Chase Blazer @ 8:06. The home team took its first lead of the game and would not relinquish the lead.

#22 may have to change his number to #77, the Caps TJ Oshe; for he stole the puck at the blue line, skated into the O zone, deked a StA defender and as he got to the Bulldog goalie crease, Patrick dangled the StA goalie á la TJ and scored @ 3:22.

By the 35th minute of the game, it was clear that the Bears controlled the ice. The Bear D dominated for the first four minutes during which the StA skaters did not put a Shot on Goal. Finally a intercepted pass resulted in a Bulldog breakaway and a goal at 10:10. Down one goal, the game became a little physical. The referees handed out 8 minutes of penalty time equally distributed between the two teams.

TJ/Patrick Giles repeated his breakaway goal magic @ 3:53. The StA goalie Is glad that he will not see #22 for a while; for the Bulldog goalie is still trying to figure out where the puck went.

With two minutes left and down by two goals, the visiting coach pulled his goalie and inserted a sixth skater. The Bulldogs’ pressure increased, but the Bear D thwarted the offense. With seconds left and in his defensive zone, Ben Gilbert controlled, saw a opening between him and the Empty Net. The puck beat the clock, crossing the goal line @0:1.1
