Requiem in Pace– Austin H. Kiplinger

Mr. Kiplinger died November 20, 2015. He did not attend Landon, but his impact on our school was immense.

Both of his sons and his grandson were Bears. Two of his lineage have served and are serving on the Board. His granddaughter works in Andrews Hall.

What Mr. Kiplinger gave to Landon is a set of individuals who have carried on his tradition of great values, sound judgment and perhaps most importantly a passion for this fine academic institution.

His son Knight is a member of the Class of 1965 and there is no doubt how my classmate grieves deeply the loss of his father, his friend and his mentor. However, the lasting impression, which this extraordinary man made on Landon, will be remembered for generations and generations.

We will not see Mr. Kiplinger’s wonderfully impish grin on campus any more, but he will be present forever within the White Rocks.
