Katz Seven Birdies While Koch Trails by Two
DATE POSTED: 6/24/2015

Evan Katz, from Landon School, blistered the Worthington Manor Golf Club layout with a torrid 6-under-par 35-31—66 that featured seven birdies. Tyler Koch, La Plata High School, was the only other player among 48 starters to break par, as he returned 34-34–68.

Coach Duquette commented that Evan’s round was “incredible”.

William (Tre’) Simmons ’20 competed last week in the USTF Junior Olympics in Jacksonville Florida.  Representing the Humming Bird Track Club in the 13-14 year old age group, he took 13th overall in the 3000 meters in a time of 9:56.91.

Sean Pelot ’21 competed last week in the AAU Junior Olympics in Norfolk Virginia.  Representing the Upper Marlboro Track Club in the 11-12 year old age group, he took 8th overall in the 200 meters in a time of 25.20.  In the 400 meters he ran a 56.94 for 10th place and had his best placement in the 800 meter run where he placed 5th in an impressive 2:16.50.

Coach Hunt is salivating as these Bears move to the Varsity teams.

Just in case you missed it, the senior laden Water Polo team will start its season before school starts with a home match against Gilman on Wednesday August 26. They then head to Philadelphia for a set of tests against the schools there.

Limited time and very limited knowledge of some sports mean that BSN would GREATLY benefit from students, parents or coaches who could send posts about cross country, soccer or water polo. The goal is to inform the Bears about all of the boys.
