Saint Stephens/ Saint Agnes’ lacrosse 6 Landon 5 in 4 overtimes

SSSA arrived ready and armed with an excellent game plan. The Bears were flat initially and valiantly fought back. Landon was down by four goals after ten minutes of the game and it took them thirty-seven minutes for the home team to tie the score. With 0:35.5 remaining the tallies were equal for the first time.

Each of the four overtimes followed virtually the same general pattern. Jarett Witzal would win the face-off, the coaches would call a time out, the Bears would smartly work the ball in their end of the field and eventually the Saints would gain possession (save or otherwise). SSSA would then move the ball to their end and for the first three overtimes, they would not score either. A couple of Hunter Sells saves were recorded in these segments. Unfortunately, the visitors found the corner of the goal in the fourth overtime.
