  • Varsity baseball earned two more wins and a close loss for an 8-2 total so far
  • Varsity Golf lists a 2-0 record
  • Varsity Tennis has a 1-2 start to the season
  • Varsity Rugby beat Model School 62-0

Varsity Lacrosse

The game against the #1 West team (Inside Lacrosse) , St. Ignatius was a battle and the visitors won. Friday’s scheduled game against Georgetown Prep was moved to 4/13 @ Bordley Stadium at 4:30pm.

Varsity Track and Field


Here are some of the individual highlights from the Holton Track meet:

o   Boys 100 Meters—1st Johari Johnson, 11.94

o   Boys 200 Meters—1st Johari Johnson, 23:00 o

Boys 800 Meters—1st Kevin Tsai, 2:18.60; Andrew Parker and Jackson Powell were 2nd and 3rd.o

Boys Shot Put—1st Keith Simms, 42.06.00o

Boys Discus Throw—1st Keith Simms , 111-05o

In addition to the above-mentioned All Mets, there were many other accolades for the skating Bears:

  • 1—Coach of the Year (should have been two)

Clarkson-2014 - 045








Quinnipiac University sophomore Sam Anas( Landon School 2011, Potomac, Maryland) was named to the 2014-15 AHCA/CCM Hockey Men’s Division I All-American Second Team. Further, Sam earned to the 2014-15 New England Men’s Hockey All-Star Team plus earned All-ECAC Hockey Second Team. These honors reflect that he was ranked eighth nationally in goals (23) and was one of 26 players, nationally, to score 20 or more goals this year. His 39 points ranked 33nd nationally as well. Note: he was the WaPo Hockey PoY for the 2010-2011 season.

 Bear Diamond Trax  Jack Falvey (2011), Amherst, the Lord Jeffs beat Williams at both ends of a doubleheader, but no statistics were published. Kyle Colgain (2011), Denison, pitched 4 1/3 innings and giving up 4 ERs against DePauw. The team went 3-1 for the week. Ian Kelso (2011) Washington University, the one game scheduled for the week was postponed.  Jay Graham (2011) Dartmouth Big Green Infielder and reliever; the team was 2-2 since the last Sunday Edition.


Max Kra (2012), Bucknell Bisons, reliever: faced a batter against Lehigh. Then pitched 1and 1 /3 innings against Army and retired all of the Black Knights whom he faced. The Bison went 2-3 for the week.

Sean P. O’Brien (2014), Macalester College pitcher. Sean pitched 3 innings against Concordia, gave up 1 hit, struck out 3, but walked 4. The Scots had a 0-4 week.

Alexander Mockett (2014), Sewanee, is no longer listed on the Tigers roster. Is that an incorrect reading of the site?

Bear Tennis Trax

Alex Reinke (2014), Southern Methodist University, the Mustangs lost to # 10 TCU.

Bear Golf Trax

Brent Bubes (2014), Maryland, the Terps are playing at a course in Columbus, OH.

Ralph Blasey (2014), Davidson golf, has played in all of the Wildcats seven tournaments.

 Bear Track Trax

Oliver Hightower (2014), Kenyon Lords.  The results for the Lords’ men at Marv Frye Invitational showed that they were in last place. Could not find any reports on Oliver.

Mac Hightower, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps’ Stags. The team is competing at the Caltech/Chapman/Cal Lutheran/Whittier on Saturday, but the meet must not be completed yet.

Deion Wellington, Coastal Carolina’s Chanticleers competed at a meet but the records do not indicate that the 4×100 team from CC ran.

Jordan Marshall (2014), Davidson Wildcats, posted a 16.11 in the 110 Hurdles at the NCAT Aggies meet.
