Landon Hockey 7 Archbishop Spaulding 1

Thanks to an intrepid reporter (the normal writer was on Capitol Hill), the Bears traveled to Piney Orchard (proximate to NSA’s Ft. Meade) to play MAPHL competitor the Cavaliers of Archbishop Spaulding (3-1-2). The visitors, missing two of its players, earned a big 7-1 win.

At 9:14 Patrick Giles, assisted by Tommy Crittenberger got on the scoreboard. The symbiotic relationship repeated at 7:09 when they reversed the roles the freshman feeding the senior for a goal.

The next 15 minutes required that the scorekeeper enter two Bear penalties. The other official writing noted that the Cavaliers scored a goal.

Bears dominated the last period. Drew Wellington found the back of the AS net at 14:52. Then big brother Matt notched a score with help from Aditya Krishnan and Nico Kenary. The 5th goal was tallied by Michael Soraci with helpers to Alex Norwinski and Patrick Gilles. At 4:58 Jacob Ruttenberg netted on and Patrick recorded his 3rd A (and 4th point). Tommy Crittenberger put in his 2nd goal with 2 minutes left.

Onto StA at Fort DuPont tomorrow at 8pm. All Bears should be there to support the Landon hockey team in this rivalry match.
