Capital Lacrosse Invitational

Link:http://www.capitallacrosseinvitational.org/

An annual, and hopefully permanent, event which honors a Bear Great Mario St. George Boiardi will be held at Landon, Sunday October 12th.

The Foundation, a group of his Landon and Cornell brothers and sisters, organizes a Fall Ball classic at which six of the nation’s premier college lacrosse teams will be showcased.

The teams, for each there are hyperlinks to their most recent rosters so you can see what DMV players will be there, are:

Fans will be able to see four Bears (the Joyce brothers, Marshall Peters and Jack Bolen) and 28 alumni from the extended DMV area. The schedule for these awesome matches is linked HERE (the same link includes directions to the site).

This is a unique opportunity for young players to see highly skilled players in the intimate surroundings of Bordley Field. Unlike many college stadia and the NCAA Final 4 NFL monstrosities where your seats are barely in the same ZIP or area code as the field, here your daughter or son will have a great view of these exceptional college athletes.

Speaking of young aspiring Div. I and III lacrosse players, top instructors volunteer their time to help young boy and girl laxers learn their skills. The boys will be under the tutelage of Trilogy’s National Director Mitch Belisle, who earned his Defenseman of the Year Award at Cornell. Claire Bordley, an UVa All American, a member of the USA U19 Team and now the head coach of the Potomac School Girls Varsity team, with two of her fellow Lady Cavaliers, will help the girls to improve their skills.

More details, including times, are HERE

This event, among others, raises money for the charitable works of the Foundation. A complete explanation of how this completely volunteer organization honors George’s legacy is HERE.

Please come to this wonderful exhibition of great lacrosse and even greater effort to help kids. Copy and forward this to friends, local youth lacrosse teams and anyone who likes good college lacrosse.
