Landon Wins First Home Meet

Landon hosted St. Andrews, Covenant Life, and Sandy Spring Friends School for the first official home meet of the season on Wednesday afternoon, and the Bears truly showcased the speed that they’d worked so hard to develop over the past ten days. The nearly-perfect team finish—a score of 16—was merely the expected end result for a squad that collectively posted 13 PRs (Personal Records) amid 40 or so season record times. Led once again by the increasingly dominant Ben Gilbert (1st), Landon also enjoyed standout performances from Jack Chlopak (2nd), Wesley Feldman (3rd), and Will Powell (4th). Fleet-footed freshmen Ari Chaddah and Kevin Tsai ran PRs, and Peter King, Logan Giles, Matt Lowrie (PR), and Henry Smith all finished in the top 20. Some JV runners dropped as many as five minutes from their previous season times; from top to bottom, the Bears showcased their grit and speed, and hopes are high for a victory at the Musselman Invitational this Saturday in West Virginia. Thanks to all who cheered on the runners from all schools during the meet. Go Bears!
