Passing of a great father

Writing about Landon sports exposes one to the wonderful parents of these boys. Over the past five years I have met many, many fine Moms and Dads.

We have lost one of the best of this category. Steve Rupp always had a smile on his face and a friendly salutation.

He followed his boys Dillon and Colton with incomparable dedication. Long distances, lousy weather, nothing deterred Steve from supporting his boys.

Pre and post game, Mr. Rupp always had some insight into how the Bears would play or how they performed. To be honest, some of the best points made in BSN were inspired by or derived from one of Steve’s comments.

A man can be measured by the people with whom he associated or more aptly the people who were drawn to Steve. His spouse, Lindsey, is proof positive of the quiet magnetism of Steve.

Another demonstration of this man’s value is his progeny- Dillon and Colton, both great boys and each talented in a uniquely individual way. These three Rupp’s will reflect well on their patriarch and be long term reminders of the wonderful essence of Steve.

My condolences to all three. Steve was a superb Bear.
