Bear at the Eastern States Invitational (future Bear track trax at Bucknell)

Malachi Bostic-Watley has qualified for the Eastern States Invitational in the 55 meter Dash.  The meet is Monday, at The Armory Track & Field Center in New York, New York.  He will be competing against a field of athletes who are mostly from NJ, NY, PA and the New England States. Malachi set the Landon School record in the 55 meter dash with a time of 6.59 at the Hoxton Invitational this past Saturday.

Bear Alumni Hockey

Max Greenwald ’12 and the Middlebury Panthers upset 4-3 the Lord Jeffs of Amherst. Max played and earned a =/- rating of even. Onto the NESCAC playoffs.

Sam Anas ’11scored his 40th goal recently and thereby set an All Time  Youngstown Phantoms record.

Matt Coster ’11, Cornell Hockey Club, according to the website will next play in a national tournament on March 1.

Mike Anderson ‘12, Princeton Club hockey is playing in the tournament of the Greater Northeast Collegiate Hockey Conference (GNCHC) last weekend. No data still.

Bear Alumni Hoops

Christian Webster ’09 Crimson of Harvard beat the Bruins of Brown 65-47 Christian started, plated  37 minutes, scored 9 points, pulled down 1 rebound and had 1 steal. Against the Bulldogs of λale the boys of Cambridge won 67-64; Christian started, played 30 minutes, had 4 points, 6 rebounds,2 assists and 1 block.

Danny Rubin’10 and BC Eagles beat the Terps 69-58 and Danny got to play.

Darion Atkins ’11, UVa, lost to the Hurricanes of Miami and the Big Bear scored 4 points in 11 minutes and 3 rebounds. The Cavaliers play the Yellow Jackets of Georgia Tech on Sunday. 

Joe McDonald ’12 and the GWU Colonials beat the Fordham Rams 68-60. Joe started, played 26 minutes and had 6 points plus 3 rebounds, 1 assist and 3 steals. In a 71-59 loss to St. Joseph’s our Joe started, played 24 minutes with 3 points, 3 assists and 1 steal.

Chris Hudnut ’11, Colby Mules, earned the Maine Men’s Basketball Coaches and Writers Association Rookie of the Week honor for the third time this season after securing the award for the week ending Feb. 18.

Against the second-ranked team in the country, Hudnut had 21 points, 13 rebounds, and a pair of blocked shots in a NESCAC quarterfinal setback to Amherst College. Hudnut helped Colby reach the NESCAC playoffs with 14 points, six rebounds, two blocks, and two assists in a victory over Connecticut College. 

Hudnut, despite missing two games while ill, led Colby in scoring at 12.9 points per game and ranked 16th in the conference. He was one of just two first-year players in the top 20 in scoring in the league. Hudnut also averaged 5.3 rebounds and led the Mules in blocks (18 total), made free throws (61), and was second in 3-point shooting (.382, 21-for-55).

The Penn Quakers started Will Laco ‘11 in their   victory over the Duke Blue Devils.

Princeton issued a press release for its upcoming game against Hofstra. Here is the picture of Jack Strabo ‘10  , which was featured in this link ( ); the release also mentioned that it is the 1st time since two Tierney’s started that two brothers were in the opening line-up with Mark as one of the top three Tiger defenders.
