Added Bear Tracks News

Tonight there will be a Blackberry report on the IAC semi-final hockey game against RP.

A lot of great news about Bears playing baseball, hoops and lacrosse came in after the Sunday Edition—

WLUGenerals Dolan Named ODAC Baseball Player of the Week.

Apologies for the font size; it was the best that could be found.

Colby College lost to Wesleyan in hoops on Sunday 73-47. The Mules’ Chris Hudnut led his team with 13 points.

From the website, Coach Bates had good things to say about Bears:

The goalie will be a new starter, possibly a freshman. The three starters on defense figure to be a converted longstick midfielder (Derick Raabe), a converted shortstick defensive midfielder who will be playing with a pole for the first time (Nick Fernandez) and either a freshman (Mark Strabo or Brian Pickup) or a returning player who has not yet started a game in his career (Brian Reilly, Rob Posniewski).

Pinceton has a strong group of shortsticks, and in fact this group is the most experienced among returning defensive players. The key is to see the way the position evolves as the season goes on.

Jack Strabo has been in the first group since Day 1 of his freshman year, and he will continue to be so. In addition to his role when it’s 6-on-6, he’s also a great asset to the man-down unit.

The third spot could belong to a freshman, Mark Strabo, whose brother Jack is a shortstick. Others who could be the third starter and who regardless will push for considerable playing time are Brian Reilly, Rob Posniewski and Brian Pickup.
