D-I Tournament Wrap Up

In the season’s final Bears vs. Bears contest, Maryland (Kellen Miller) beat Duke (Josh Offit) 16-10 in the second game of the NCAA Men’s D-I Lacrosse Tournament semi-finals in Foxborough,  MA.  Josh scored one goal and got 2 ground balls for the Blue Devils.  I would go into greater detail, but the picture below shows what I was doing at the time of the faceoff.  In the first game, Loyola beat Notre Dame.

The Terrapin’s big win got them to the championship game for the second year in a row.  Maryland and Loyola had a tight, back and forth contest early on and Maryland had a 3-2 lead with 10:40 left in the second quarter, but the Greyhounds scored 7 unanswered goals to capture the school’s first-ever NCAA D-1 Men’s Lacrosse Championship.

D-III—All American HonorsNick Rhoads of Tufts was named the USLIA 2nd team All-American squad this year, a fitting honor to cap a great season and a great career at Tufts.
