Thoughts and Stats on the McDonogh Game

Yesterday’s report of the game against MIAA powerhouse was written on my blackberry from one of the Eagles’ Owings Mills parking lots. Its brevity reflected the need to get a story out by my list serve’s deadline and a frustration with the game’s outcome. It was not meant to indicate that there was a lack of effort by the Bears; the boys made many good plays against a superior team. Their effort was evident throughout the 48 minutes. There were several outstanding plays, but highlighting such moments of excellence in a loss is difficult.

As said somewhat facetiously in that missive, but at some level a valid observation, playing a team with a college style huge screen TV on its scoreboard is a difficult proposition. This loss should not be discouraging to the Bears (players and fans) about the team’s prospects against IAC competition which begins this Thursday against “The High School”.
