Several teams that have been regulars in the USA TODAY Super 25 football rankings will be represented at the 2011 Patriot Classic on Sept. 9-10 at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, Md.

The event is designed to honor the military. Beginning at 5 p.m. on Friday, the first game will be between The Landon School (Bethesda, Md.) and Bishop McNamara (Forestville, Md.), followed by a 7:30 p.m. game between DeMatha (Hyattsville, Md.), which was ranked in 2009 and Calvert Hall (Baltimore), which was in the Super 25 last year.

Saturday, Potomac (Oxon Hill, Md.) will play Archbishop Spaulding (Severn, Md.) at 10:45 a.m., followed by Annapolis (Md.) Area Christian vs. Red Lion (Bear, Del.) at 1:45 p.m. St. Joseph’s Prep (Philadelphia) will play Gonazaga (Washington, D.C.) at 4:45 p.m.. The final game will be at 7:45 p.m. between Gilman (Baltimore) and Good Counsel (Olney, Md.), both of whom were in the Super 25 last season.

Tony Kennedy, president of the Patriot Classic, said the weekend was chosen because it marks the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks.
